Fall 2019-2020 Application & Admission Procedures

San Diego State University Georgia is receiving applications for the 2018-2019 Academic Year until March 31, 2018. Applicants are admitted to SDSU Georgia programs through NAEC exams.

  1. Conditional admission – SDSU Georgia offers conditional admission to qualified applicants. Applicants can be conditionall admitted before NAEC exams by applying through the Apply SDSU application.

    Application process:

    • E-Applications must be submitted
    • After submitting the Apply SDSU application, applicants are required to provide their high school transcripts for the 10th and 11th grades of their studies in an original language and notarized English translation. Documents are to be presented to the SDSU Georgia Administrative office, at 5 Kostava Street, third floor.
    • Applicants who would like to apply for financial aid, are required to fill out Financial Aid request form.
    • Applicants with the required academic qualification will be notified about the SDSU Georgia scholarship offer until April 2019.
    • Academically eligible applicants will receive Conditional Admission letters until April 30, 2019. The admission will be conditional upon passing the NAEC exams (see the SDSU Georgia NAEC requirements below).

    2. Admission through NAEC exams – Georgian citizens will be admitted to SDSU Georgia programs through NAEC exams. An exception to the requirement is a special curriculum degree from specific high schools and for applicants who are not eligible to take National exams.

    Regular Admission Process:

    • Select one or more SDSU Georgia program(s) as your highest, or one of your highest priorities for admission. The selection must include the name of the university and the title of the program. You can select SDSU-G programs from all Georgian partner university program lists in the NAEC catalog for 2019-2020 admissions.
    • Admissions decisions will be announced in August 2019.
    • High School Diploma – Complete high school graduation requirements or the equivalent. After graduating high school, an applicant will be required to present the 12th-grade transcripts in an original language and notarized English translation and a certified copy of a High School Diploma. Deadline to present the additional documentation will be determined later by SDSU Georgia.

NAEC Requirement for Admission Year 2019-2020

Admission for Georgian citizens is available through NAEC examinations. SDSU Georgia will admit students qualifying the following minimum competency levels:

Computer Engineering BS Program (available at Tbilisi State University and Georgian Technical University)
  • General Aptitude: 40% + 1
  • English Language: 75% + 1
  • Mathematics: 50% + 1 or Physics 40% + 1
  • Georgian: Passing Score
Electrical Engineering BS Program (available at Tbilisi State University and Ilia State University)
  • General Aptitude: 40% + 1
  • English Language: 75% + 1
  • Mathematics: 50% + 1 or Physics 40% + 1
  • Georgian: Passing Score
Chemistry / Biochemistry Engineering BS Programs (available at Tbilisi State University)
  • General Aptitude: 40% + 1
  • English Language: 75% + 1
  • Chemistry: 50% + 1 or Biology 64% + 1
  • Georgian: Passing Score
Civil Engineering BS Program (available at Georgian Technical University and Ilia State Univeristy)
  • General Aptitude: 40% + 1
  • English Language: 75% + 1
  • Mathematics: 50% + 1 or Physics 40% + 1
  • Georgian: Passing Score

English Language Proficiency

All instruction at SDSU Georgia is in English. Applicants with a NAEC English minimum score of 75%+1 will be admitted as Freshman, however by the end of the first academic year all students are expected to pass one of the following exams: TOEFL – at least 70 (IBT), or 523 (PBT), or IELTS – at least 6.0. SDSU Georgia will prepare the admitted students for the TOEFL exam and will administer several tests during their freshmen year, free of charge.
